He departed this life on May 4, 2015.
He attended Life Church under the leadership of Craig Groeschel.
In addition to his parents, Tommy was proceeded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Countee and Isaac and one sister, Deborah.
He was a loving, devoted father, son, brother and friend. He was employed as a manager for T-mobile (operated by Amtel) in Fort Worth, TX.
He attended Alcorn State University and served in the United States Army.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a son, Jalen Christopher Rivers, a daughter, Kelsey Leigh Rivers, a brother, Johnny Rivers Jr.(Monica), three sisters, Panola Rivers, Clara Reynolds and Johnny Mae Ware-Watts (Mike), cherished nephews Zitapek, Gregory and Johnny Major Rivers III(Felicia).
A number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends including, Floyd Allamon, Roshern Amie, and the Belcher, Bee and Ochoa families.
