

BURLESON -- William "Bill" Keith Hyatt, 66, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016. Funeral: 12noon Friday, September 2, 2016 in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel of Fort Worth. Burial: Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 2:15pm. Friday, September 2nd at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. William was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on December 17, 1949 to William Keith Hyatt, Sr. and Mary Jo (Hamilton) Hyatt. He spent many years during his youth in the Boy Scouts Organization before joining the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant and the nickname "Flak". He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, in addition to spending time in Turkey and Germany. William earned a purple heart and multiple bronze stars for bravery in combat. After leaving the military he attended college and married Margaret Hennig on July 31, 1976. William loved to watch Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys football as well as Texas Rangers Baseball. Also an avid fan of John Wayne movies, hardly a day went by when "The Duke" didn't grace the television screen. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycling and RVing across the country with his wife. He was a selfless person who would help others without regard for himself. Many thanks to the nurses, techs, and doctors at the USRC-Tarrant Dialysis Center in Burleson for their caring and professional care of Bill. Survivors: William is survived by his loving wife Margaret of 40 years; Sons, Michael Hyatt and wife Kristen and Jeff Hyatt all of Burleson; sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Brannon; grandchildren, Chad, Kayleigh, Phoebe, and Liam; many loving nieces, nephews and extended family including his Brothers-in-Arms from the 3rd Herd, B Troop 1/4 Cav 3rd Platoon as well as service brothers Chuck Domel and Max Mayorga. William was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
