Willie Fay Hicks was born July 13th, 1934 in Techuacana, Texas. She was the first born and only girl of four children of L.C. and Annie Smith. Fay was introduced to and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an earlier age. She attended and graduated from Woodlands High School in Mexia, Texas. In the early 1960s, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas and lived with her younger brother, Jimmy Lee Smith (nicknamed "Honey").
After finding a job as a carhop at a hamburger place, she met Delma Hicks. Who would come over for lunch every chance he could to see her. Eventually, the two fell in love and married in 1962. By 1964, they gave birth to their only biological child, Danny.
Fay would get a job in 1966 at General Dynamics (currently know as Lockheed). She received many awards for her exceptional work ethic and made many friends. And would work there until she retired in 1997.
Fay was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. If she could help you, she would. If you needed to talk, she'd listen. And despite her independent nature, she always had time for someone else. It was mentioned earlier that she only had one biological child, but has many "adopted" children. Children she would help with their homework, bake a cake or cookies, buy clothes, help you with your relationship problems, and so on.
She was called to rest in the Glory of GOD forever on June 5th, 2025. She leaves cherished memories to her youngest brother, L.C. Smith, Jr.; son, Danny; godsons and goddaughters Nicki, Pat, Angie, Ravyn, Retta, Mikey, Tanisha, Lynn, Ricky, Terrence, Sandra, Pam, Walker Jr., Wesley, Niecy, Britney, and so many others.
If anyone was a reflection of GOD's love on Earth, it was her. We must take the time to remember the things we all shared with her. We love her very much...and will continue to do so.
