David Bragdon McGaughey, age 82, of Framingham, MA, passed away peacefully with friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Born in Framingham, he was the youngest child of the late Willard F. McGaughey and Crystal O. (Bragdon) McGaughey.
A graduate of Framingham Vocational High School, Class of ’62, he was a participant in the Framingham Heart Study and loved hiking and snowmobiling in Maine. David was a dedicated employee of Hanson Electric Supply in Framingham for 50 years, where he served as Showroom Manager. He took great joy in traveling with his family in his father’s camper. He also had a strong spiritual outlook and a firm hope for the future as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
David was married for 50 years to his wife, the late MaryAnn (Szumplawski) McGaughey. He is survived by his daughter, Kyra McGaughey of Framingham; his sister, Gladys (McGaughey) Eisan of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his older siblings Burt, Harper, and Deborah McGaughey.
At the request of the family, services will be held privately with the assistance of Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 318 Union Ave., Framingham.
