Lucy Gladys Griffin

Lucy Gladys Griffin of Framingham, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at MetroWest Medical Center/Framingham Union Hospital. She was 79 and the wife of Carlton Griffin, Sr., to whom she was married for 57 years. She was born June 28, 1934 in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Monroe and Myrtle (Churchwell) Twitty and settled in Framingham to raise her family in 1957.For many years, until her retirement, Mrs. Griffin provided cleaning services for private homes in the greater Framingham area. She was very domestic and enjoyed decorating her home and received recognition with a major prize for the Christmas Decorating of her house. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and was noted for her fashionable way of dressing. In addition to her husband, Carlton, she leaves two sons: Jeffrey Griffin and Carlton Griffin, Jr. of Framingham, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. Memorial services in celebration of the life of Lucy Gladys Griffin will be held Friday, June 13, at 6:00pm at the Myrtle Baptist Church, 21 Curve St., West Newton. The Reverend Brandon T. Crowley will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the MetroWest/Wadsworth-Chiappini Funeral Home, 318 Union Ave, Framingham.
