

SIEWNY, Bertha Jeanne, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, after an extended illness at The Woodlands in Middletown. She was born August 24th, 1933 in Campton, Kentucky the daughter of Amanda and Harvey Profitt. She was a wonderful spouse, mother, grandmother, and a devout Christian. She was a founding and lifelong member of the St. Luke United Presbyterian Church.
She worked for the Middletown School System, was a member of Wildwood Golf Club, The Buckeye Blossom Quilt Guild, and volunteered at Middletown Regional Hospital for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Walter Siewny; her parents; two sisters, Ethel Kennedy and Margie Rose; and two brothers, Wendell Profitt and David Profitt. She is survived by her son, Gregory Walter Siewny (Jeanne); her daughter, Susan Siewny (Dick Day); her brothers, Luther and Elmer Profitt; her four grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, Rachael, and Emma; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you goes out to her many caregivers and especially the kind staff at The Woodlands of Middletown. There will be an open visitation at St. Luke United Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 26th from 10:00 am until 11:30 am with the service immediately following at 11:30 am. A private burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either St. Luke United Presbyterian Church, 280 N. Breiel Blvd. or Wildwood Golf Club Capital Fund, 601 Aberdeen Drive, Middletown, Ohio 45042.
