Betty Jo Stone

Betty Jo (Boggs) Stone, of Lebanon, Ohio passed away on April 9th at Hospice of Dayton surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against Parkinson’s. Betty was born in Olive Hill, KY on April 18th, 1943, to the late Joe and Gladys Ruth (Tackett) Boggs. Betty is survived by her beloved and faithful husband of 64 years Lowell Thomas “Tom” Stone; three children, Jeff (Kim) Stone, Chris Stone, Lisa (John) Forman; four grandchildren, Christopher (Heather) Stone, David Stone, Paige (Collin) Leonard, Andrew Forman; two great grandchildren, Lana Leonard, and Leo Stone; her brother, Paul Boggs; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Thomas Stone, two brothers, Ercel Boggs, Earl Boggs: two sisters, Judy Ann Erwin and Margaret Sue Beltrami.

Betty was employed with Hyde Park Electronics for many years. She was well known as the “party planner.” She enjoyed planning the parties for all the holidays and dressing up in costume for the celebrations. She was greatly missed once she retired.

Most importantly, Betty was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished grandma. She was an avid bowler, loved gardening and being with her family. Her home was always open and welcoming for visits with sage advice, and sleepovers that lasted the weekend. She was an avid crafter that included making many wreaths in honor of her loved ones for Memorial Day. Her grandchildren slept well in the PJ’s she sewed for them, and they looked most forward to their stockings at Christmas and the treat of Pistachio cakes on their birthdays.

Betty was also most notably famous for Sunday morning breakfasts that her and Tom would whip up for the family. Breakfast did not end there, her arms were also open to extended family and friends as well and was considered a tonic by many visitors both local and international for anyone who needed a hearty breakfast after a late night out ….and the dogs may have gotten a little as well. No one was ever turned away from her table or door.

A Visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Homes-Springboro, 40 North Main Street, Springboro, OH 45066, on April 14, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with the Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 pm.

Burial will take place at Stone Cemetery in Elliott County, Kentucky, on April 16, 2026.
