To my beloved father-in-law, Charley Pennington, thank you for raising a wonderful son, Darrell Pennington, who is a great husband to me and who is well liked by many. He has many of your traits and love the Lord the way you taught him through your example. God has placed His favor on his life that where ever he goes he is well liked..You would be so proud of him as he carries your legacy, a legacy of prayer and dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ. The most remarkable trait that you have passed on to him was that he would be before the Lord every morning in prayer before he went to work and started a new day. Darrell loved you dearly. You and mom were daily on his heart as he longed to be with you. Time has passed so quickly and we had to say good-bye but we will know that we will meet again soon! Kenny and I planned to be with you on this difficult day, but the harsh weather and icy roads in and around where we live have made the trip too risky. Although our hearts and minds are with you, please know how sorry we are not to be there in person.

Our paths crossed several times over the years with Charley and Mary, my husband's uncle and aunt. We've been blessed to have them in our home and blessed to attend church with them. They were truly \one in Christ.\" One night sitting around our kitchen table after a church service Charley told us about his years in the military. Another time he talked about how he became under conviction and was led to the Lord. Charley's personality was larger than life; he was a joy to be with and we will always feel the miss of him. I'll always remember his sermon: \"Sin will take you farther than you want to go.\" Our deepest sympathies are extended to everyone in his family."

I have known and loved Brother Charley Pennington since I was a child. So many memories of Brother Pennington preaching at our church in Cincinnati and our visits to Dryden Road. Edna and I extend our sympathies to the entire family and rejoice that his victory is now complete as he joins those who have preceded him. It can't be long 'til we join him!

Bro Charley and Sis Mary were lifelong friends of my parents, Rev. Perry & Nell Allen. I remembered many services listening to Charley sing and preach. He had such a large, warm presence. He was a true prayer warrior and his prayers will be greatly missed by those left here. Visiting him at HIllspring, his biggest concern was Mary, the love of his life. What a beautiful couple that have inspired so many with their dedication, honesty, commitment and love for each other. I know my dad, and fellow men of Pentecost are happy to welcome Charley to heaven.

Entire Pennington family our hearts go out to you but we know you are thrilled for Bro. Charlie. We feel he is still our pastor, we loved him and Sis. Mary she was the perfect Pastor's wife and mother.

What a giant of a man...what compassion he always had!!You always left his presence with a smile!!How awesome Heaven is...with Bro Charley there!!!

Charley Pennington is one of the most respected and adored men that we have ever known. He always had time for his fellow ministers and always had a smile to share. And in his own way made us feel special. I loved kidding with Charley, as he always told my husband to keep Mary away from me, because Mary and I always had stories to share. Charley will always have a special place in our hearts and the memories we have of him will always be cherished. We love you Charley. Thank you for sharing your ministry with us through the years.

I always enjoyed the times I was blessed to be in service with Charlie and Mary. Last time I saw Charlie was at Faith Trinity in Shelbyville, Indiana. Prayers for the family.

Oh, how I'll miss that sweet sweet smile. I have some of the best memories of my great great Uncle Charley. He started walking with a cane and came into church one night and smacked that cane on the pew and scared my niece so bad she has never forgotten that. He also used to like to open his candy and throw the wrapper in front of someone else to pick up. That was just Charley! He whistled and it sounded like a bird and I thought that was the neatest thing even. Most of all I'll never forget his desire to serve the Lord. What a legacy you have left!

I knew him as Papaw, grandfather to my nephew Aaron. Although I have only visited with him a handful of times over the last 35 years, each visit to Hawaii was treasured by his family here. Over the years I have heard many accolades of his love for the Lord, his years as a Pastor and most importantly the wonderful father he was to Darrell and grandfather to Aaron. He and Mary are part of our Hawaii family and we honor his unending service to the Lord and his love of family. You will be greatly missed by your Hawaii family.

I have known Charley & Mary all of my life. Charley use to joke with me all the time about me being pretty but not as pretty as his grand-daughter, Whitney. I think we were about the same age.

So Sorry to hear of Bro. Charley's passing, I met him & Mary probably in 1977 at the Rockhouse Pentecostal Church through Bro. Pearl Lewis & Thelma. I always enjoyed their visits at our Church. I appreciate his teaching that he taught Pearl & Thelma & it was passed down to us at Rockhouse.
