

Charley Pennington, age 93 formerly of Franklin passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Hillspring Health Care Center. He was born February 17, 1922 in Sand Gap, Kentucky the son of Will and Sarah (Brockman) Pennington.
Charley was a former Pastor at the Dryden Road Pentecostal Church and was the Pastor of several churches in Ohio, Florida and Kentucky. He also served his country during WW II in the US Army where he received several distinguished medals, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Effie Powell and Jennie Hurst, also his brothers, Ben, Johnny, Frank, Tee and Rollie Pennington.
Charley is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Pennington; his daughter, Sandy (Ronnie) Trusty; two sons, Darrell (Edwina) Pennington, and Charles (Sheila) Pennington; 2 grandchildren, Aaron Pennington and Whitney Harden and 4 great grandchildren, Reagan Charley, Aukai, Kili and Kekoa.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Solid Rock Church, 903 Union Rd., Lebanon, with Pastor Perry Fouts officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens with Military Honors. Please visit www.anderson-fh.com to send an online condolence.
