Cheryl Hickey

Cheryl Lynn Hickey passed away Wednesday, May 11, at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was 62. Born in Cincinnati and lived there most of her life, graduating from Woodward High School in 1967, excelling in typing and data processing and, in 1993, received an Associate Degree in Transportation from Sinclair College. Cheryl never lacked friends; she had an exciting personality and a great love of life. She asked little and gave so much. She will be missed by all who knew her. Cheryl is survived by her husband of 23 years, Bob Hickey; two sons, Scott Reckerds of Tipp City, Ohio, and Charles Reckerds of Blue Ash, Ohio; three sisters, Nancy McDaniel of Indiana, Debbie Clifford of Fairfield, Ohio, Beverly Woods of Cincinnati, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Greta Kochersperger of Middletown; a stepson, Dr. Michael Hickey of Fort Worth, Texas; and six grandchildren. Cheryl survived breast cancer in 1992 but developed a second cancer in 2010. At her death, she was employed as a PBX Operator at Atrium Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, May 16 at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Denny officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park. Donations to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45206 in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
