David L Boomershine

David Boomershine, age 77 of Middletown, passed away Saturday morning, October 28, 2017 at the Carlisle Manor Nursing Home. He was born September 24, 1940 in Oxford, Ohio the son of Floyd and Thelma (Kelley) Boomershine. David served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Butler County Sheriff's Office after 15 years of service and from ODOT after 32 years of service. He was a member of the VFW and loved to train dogs, especially German Shepherds. David enjoyed his frequent visits to Branson, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie (Hall) Boomershine; two daughters, Kim (husband, Tommy) Purvis and Mindy Boomershine; three grandchildren, Brady, Hunter and Hallie; three step grandchildren, Blake, Brenten and Brianna; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice Care of Middletown for all their help.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday at the Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home with Chaplain June Downing officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army Color Guard will be at the Butler County Memorial Park.
