

Dennis Nichols, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022. Dennis was born to Clyde and Helen Nichols in Pinehurst, North Carolina on June 11, 1957. He graduated from Preble Shawnee High School in 1976. Dennis was married to Tammy Nichols for 19 years. He worked in maintenance at Cleveland Cliffs for 27 years. Dennis is survived by his daughters Brittney McGough and Whitney Dennis, stepchildren Sara Reed, Aaron Barnes and Jacob Barnes, as well as 6 granddaughters: Avi McGough, Mia McGough, Blakelynn Garrett, Presley Garrett, Kataen Dennis and Kamdyn Dennis.
He is also survived by his mother Helen Goodwin Nichols, and his siblings Bill Nichols, Johnny Nichols, Patty Kugler, Michael Nichols, Ronnie Nichols, Charles Nichols and Danny Nichols. He was preceded in passing by his father, Clyde Nichols, and sister Shirley Padgett.
We wish to extend a special thanks to Dr. Hurlburt III, Dr. Michael House, Dr. Anwer Siddiqui and Dr. Nkeiruka Okoye as well as the dedicated staff of Hospice of Middletown for their care.
His friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Dennis’s life on Saturday, November 19 at 11AM at the First Church of God in Monroe with a reception for family to follow at the church. There will be Facebook video streaming available to those who cannot make the celebration via the church’s Facebook page. In his memory, donations can be made to the Simon Cancer Center of Indianapolis.
