Donald Wayne McConnell, age 70, of Franklin, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Kensington Place. He was born October 20, 1940 in Wise County, Virginia, the son of Ray Martin McConnell and Lilly Mae Lowry McConnell. Donald was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was employed as a truck driver for Roadway Express for 30 years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #528 and enjoyed CB radios. He is survived by his wife, Kay Ellen Kleinshrot McConnell; one daughter, Jennifer Don Asher of Milford, OH; four sons, Jeff Pam McConnell of Cincinnati, OH, Denzil McConnell of Indianapolis, Indiana, Paul Kim McConnell of Aurora, IN, Clinton Kayl of Dayton, OH; 16 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his mother, Lilly Mae Woodrow Taylor of Coeburn, VA; and one brother, Charles Betsy McConnell of Coeburn, VA. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Brian McConnell. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home.
