Donald L Thorne

Donald L. Thorne age, 86, of Lebanon, OH died Saturday February 28, 2026 at Quaker Heights Nursing Home. Donald was born in Hartford City, IN on September 3, 1939 to the late Raymond and Harriet (Harris)Thorne.

Donald started his career as a meat cutter at his father's grocery store at the age of 14 and remained in the grocery business all his life. He moved to Florida in 1960, where he raised his family and later retired from the grocery business as store manager. During his retirement years, he enjoyed golfing and fishing. He then moved to Ohio in 2020, where he lived in an independent living community until moving into the nursing home in 2022. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn and his sons, Duke Thorne and Bret Thorne.

Donald is survived by his brother, Terry Thorne (Frances), his ex-wife, Nancy Ondrizek and his daughter, Tami Walter, stepdaughters, Cheryl Carlson and Kim Keift. Also, stepsons Dan Coleman (Lisa) and Scott Coleman and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be 2:30pm Friday March 6, 2026 at the Springboro Cemetery 2348 Lower Springboro Rd Springboro, OH.
