Doris Cox

Doris Jean Lawson-Cox, The voice of an angel, age 61 of Middletown, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at her residence. She was born December 7, 1950 in Middletown, the daughter of Carl Lawson and Ruth Hahn Lawson. Doris worked as a nurse at Mt. Pleasant, and volunteered on Wayne Township Life Squad. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, her children and grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church. Doris is survived by her husband of 38 years, Leon Cox; a daughter, Shannon Shepherd of Middletown; three sons, Jamie wife, Lisa Cox of Trenton, Gregory wife, Kristi Cox of Trenton and Eric wife, Leanne Cox of Madison Township; 9 grandchildren, Kyerra, Mariah, Kyler, Amber, Austin, Kassidy, Caleb, D.J., and Taylor; two great grandsons, Owen and Waylon; a sister, Carolyn Gene Parrott; three brothers, James wife, Mary Lawson, Roger wife, Margaret Lawson and Jerry wife, Carol Lawson; a sister-in-law, Donna husband, Ricky Gentry; special friend, Cathy Dixon; and loving neighbors, Marge and Joe Borosic.

Visitation will be from 2-4:00 PM Friday at the First Baptist Church in Trenton 305 Cypress Avenue with a memorial service following at 4:00 PM, Pastor Gregory Cox officiating.
