

Earl served in the Army National Guard, and worked as a pipe fitter for over 35 years, first at Monsanto and then at GM. After retiring from GM, he drove for Odessa, and then worked at Walmart for 13 years.
Earl was very active in the community, serving as a Volunteer Firefighter in both Carlisle and Madison, and he helped build Carlisle’s first firehouse. He was a member of the FOE Aerie 2309, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 501, and the Springboro Jaycees, and coached Madison Knothole Baseball and Monroe Park Softball. In his spare time he loved fishing, buying chickens, and having fun out at his campsite at Lake of the Woods.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruby Edwards; his granddaughter, Amber Lynn Edwards; his cousin, who was like a brother, Bud Carroll; and his baby sisters, Ann and Debbie Edwards.
Earl is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; his children, Judi (Andrew) Nelson, Tammy Stebelton, Curt (Deena) Edwards, Christina Rice (Anthony Neeley), and Natasha (Alex) Stenger; his siblings, Larry (Donna) Edwards, Greg (Riva) Edwards, and Becky McHale; his grandchildren, Mindy, Kaytie, Maxx, Tyler, Dale, Hannah, Christopher, Brett, Helen, Riley, Caleb, Tali, Paden, and Siera; and great-grandchildren, Brycen, Liam, Maverick, and Ian.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 24 from 3-5 at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E 2nd St, Franklin, OH 45005. A funeral service will follow at 5:00, with Jimmy Combs officiating.
