

Edward Charles Hird Jr., born on May 9, 1960, in Buffalo, New York, passed away on November 6, 2025, at his home, at the age of 65. Ed graduated from Starpoint High School, Pendleton, NY class of 1978. Ed was a very hard worker and had many jobs since he was 15 years old. His longest tenure was for 20 years being a facilities maintenance manager/supervisor for automotive plants. His most cherished position was being a care provider for his youngest daughter Ashley. He loved living next door to his daughter Nikki and her family and seeing his grandchildren Lily and Jack just about every day. They always knew Grandpa had the snacks! He had a great love for German Shepherds and had recently saved "Ivy" from the shelter, to become his newest best friend. He enjoyed watching football, his favorite NFL team was the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite college team was the University of Alabama. Ed was a long time NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to various races and watching the races on TV. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his mother Jeanette (Haft) Hird; his father Edward Charles Hird, Sr. & wife Ann: daughter Ashley Grace Hird: father-in-law Paul McDonough & wife Mary: mother-in-law Joan (Tumulty) McDonough: brother-in-law Michael McDonough: sister-in-law Charlene Lyon.
Survived by his wife, Maureen McDonough Hird, who were joined in marriage in March of 1985: daughter Nikki (Hird) Fueston & husband Justin: grandchildren Lily and Jackson Fueston: siblings Charles Lyon; Beverly (Hird) Gibson & husband Bill: 13 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews along with very dear friends.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held at Anderson Funeral Home Franklin in the Family Life Celebration Center, located at 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, OH 45005, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 PM. There will be a time of sharing memories from 2:00- 2:30PM. Please come as you are to celebrate his life. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Animal Shelter in Ed's Honor.
