Freddie Carroll

Fred Carroll, age 78 of West Chester, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 under the care of Hospice. He was born September 12, 1933 in Middletown, the son of William Clyde Carroll and Reva Meeks Carroll. Fred served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from AK Steel. He was active in the VFW, Middletown American Legion, and the Voice of America Museum.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Lisa Wolf of Middletown, Lora husband, Allen Dabold of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, and Robin husband, Kevin Clayborn of Glendale, Arizona; step-children, Tommy and Julie Marshall, Terry Hannah, Tony and Marty Brooks; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn husband, Frank Goode. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Deanna Carroll.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park 1:00 PM Tuesday with military honors by the U.S. Air Force and American Legion Post 513 Color Guard. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 218 or the VFW Post 7696 both of Middletown.
