Diane and I were so sorry to hear of your loss. I hadn't seen Jim in a few years but remember him fondly from our days at LexisNexis. Jim never met a stranger and was always a gentleman with ready smile and a kind word for everyone. Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with you.

To Jean, Sam and Luke our deepest heartfelt condolences.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you today and always.  Your husband and father was a shining light and know that he will always be with you, just in a different way.  Every time he talked about any of you he lit up...he was so proud of his family.

Jim - you will be dearly missed my friend.  Twenty years of being my comrade, my "Blood Brother", on so many adventures, most of them anchored around Bruce shows.  I will miss your presence by my side, the sing alongs, the endless laughter and banter, the countless debates about set lists and lyrics, our phone conversations that made the work commute seem much more tolerable and the frequent texts that always brought a smile and a chuckle.  Bruce, family, sports, work, travel...the content of the conversation never mattered as much as the person the conversation was taking place with.  I cannot think of a better man to have called my friend.  You were "goodness" epitomized, and we should all strive for more of what you brought to the world.

I leave you with a verse from one of our favorite tunes...the music will never sound quite the same...

I had the pleasure of working with Jim for a number of years at Brixey & Meyer. He was a great friend. He was always smiling. We shared many stories and jokes together. He was a true friend that will truly be missed. Rest in Peace my friend - Jim Koesters

For a sports fan like me, Jim was the kind of nephew that comes along only once in a lifetime. Whenever we got together for any family function, Jim was ALWAYS ready to talk sports and, as has been alluded to here in other tributes for him--he was as quick as any person I've known with a funny joke or quip!!!!! I will miss you so much Jim and be ready to catch up on the Buckeyes when I get up there with you buddy!!!!!

Jim was truly one of a kind. His business acumen was supplemented with a sense of humor that put issues in perspective. I do not believe that the accomplishments made in business would have been possible without Jim. Always available with an eye on fantasy football, the Cavs and of course his beloved Vikings. More than proud of his family he smiled whenever they were brought up. What a great individual who seemed to understand the balances necessary in daily life. You will be missed but not forgotten.

The Footprints Prayer

One night I had a dream...
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. 
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord. 
When the last scene of my life flashed before us, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life, There was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life.
 
This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, You would walk with me all the way; But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, There is only one set of footprints.
 
I don't understand why in times when I needed you the most, you should leave me.

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child. I love you, and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. 

When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jim at The Cook Family Fun Day events which he so graciously volunteered his time to every year. Jim will be remembered as a positive and friendly person who shined his light on everyone he met. I am so deeply saddened by your loss. My deepest sympathies to the entire Donaghy Family.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim and he always had a smile on his face.  He was honestly one of the most hilarious people I've ever met.  I always teased him that if accounting didn't work out - he could do stand up comedy.  Rest in peace Jim - you will be missed by so many.  You truly did change this Earth on your short time here. I loved every interaction I ever had with Jim whether we were discussing golf, basketball, hoops bills, or Bruce Springsteen.  His optimism and enthusiasm were both contagious--he was an incredible, faith-filled family-man who knew how to put a smile on others' faces.  Every time I saw him he was the same upbeat, happy, and positive Jim I came to expect.  I learned a lot from him by just watching him--he was a great role model for me. I had the great honor of having Jim work with me at our law office years ago while Jim was still an accounting major.  Besides his obvious intelligence and abilities, Jim was a bright spot in everyone's day.  I remember being in a crowded elevator downtown Minneapolis and he belted out a "Imussay, bit of a crowd today" doing his Saturday Night Live impressions.  Many years have passed, but Jim is always in my mind as a great friend.  Your loss is deeply felt by all whose lives he enriched.

I miss Jim's smile and humor.  Although I haven't seen Jim in awhile since I moved away from Ohio, when I did see him, he was always the same friend as when I saw him every day in the office.  My sympathy goes out to Jean, Sam and Luke during this most difficult time and most difficult time of year.  May you be wrapped in the arms and hugs of family and friends near and far.

We all lost a great friend with the passing of Jim.   He was a great person, always so positive and fun to be around.   He made you laugh on days when nothing cheered you up.  I already miss him.   My deepest sympathies to Jean, Luke, and Sam.
