George "Benny" Whitt, age 76, of Middletown, Ohio, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 23, 2011 at the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. Born July 6, 1933 in Louisville, Kentucky and was the son of Walter and Rosetta Combs Whitt. He served in the National Guard and retired from General Electric after 30 years. Benny was a member of the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #693 for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Kolker Whitt; one daughter Susan Whitt Justice, both of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen D. Whitt who primarily resided in Chicago, IL; two sisters, Mildred Auvil, Dorothy Fout and his parents, all of Middletown. A celebration of a very special and giving life will e at 7pm Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with Rev. Chuck Wolfinbarger officiating. Visitation will be from 6 pm until the time of service at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 6:45 pm. Interment will be at Astoria Cemetery.
