

Rev. Gerald "Jerry" Green age 78 years old went to be with the Lord and a great reunion with loved ones gone before. He passed away at Atrium Medical Center on Monday, January 23rd at 1:48pm. He was born on April 14, 1933 in Middletown, Ohio to Elbridge and Anna Green. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas and Larry Green. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Green, three sons, David Janice, Jonathan, Daniel Sherry Green, a daughter Julie Chad Green-Engelbert, a brother, Richard"Dick" Patty Green and a sister, Kay Green-MeltonDanny of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He attended Middletown City Schools and received a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in History and Psychology from Miami University. He received his Masters of Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He worked at Armco for 18 years prior to becoming a full-time Minister. He was a Minister at Blue Ball Baptist Church, as well as several other churches in the area. Upon retiring, he began a career at Lebanon Correctional Institute, but continued to minister and teach in various churches throughout the Tri-State. Upon his death, he was teaching a bible study through Believer's University at the Church of God of Prophecy. He was an Army Veteran and attended Officer's Candidate School where he taught weaponry. The visitation and funeral will be held at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral home. The visitation will be on Friday, January 27th from 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 28th with Rev. Gary Justice officiating. The burial will be held at Woodside Cemetery directly following the funeral service. In Lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Church of God of Prophecy, 3714 Tytus Ave. Middletown, OH 45042. We would like to acknowledge Dr. Albert Malcolm and staff, as well as the physicians and nurses at Atrium Medical Center on the outstanding care and kindness that our loved one received.
