Iva Day

Iva "Sue" Day, 94 passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. She was born December 7, 1920 to Albert and Lida Swisher Warner, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Stanley, Jesse, and Pearl, also a sister, Gladys. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Castner and Herschel Day. Sue's survivors include her daughter, Janette Jude and step-children, Merrily Preston, Martha Gill and Joseph Day; grandchildren, Melissa Horwitz, Stuart Preston and Cody Day; and four great grandchildren. Sue worked s a secretary in Columbus, Ohio for fourteen years before moving to Middletown in 1951, where she continued her executive secretarial work until she retired from Aeronca at the age of 55. She was a "happy" longtime resident of Middletown. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where a Memorial service will be held, 11:00 am, Saturday at the church.
