John Keith Smith

John K. Smith, age 69 of Springboro, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Kettering Hospital, Kettering, Ohio. Born in Dayton, Ohio on February 21, 1956 he was a son to the late Wayne B. & Margaret (Perdue) Smith. John was a graduate of Springboro High School, Class of 1974. He then went on to marry the love of his life, Kimberly (Witt) Smith, and have two wonderful daughters, Casey and Carey. John was an involved father, and earned the name "Prop Dad" during Dance Team competitions and events. He loved being involved in drag racing, and being a part of the pitt crew. You could find him always listening to music, being a "rock star", joking around and laughing, or even watching TV; older shows and movies. John had a love for animals, especially cats and dogs, he was quite the magnet for all things furry. More than anything he was a lifelong loyal friend, and will be missed deeply by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Thomas Smith: sister Faye A. Wright.

Survived by his wife of 48 years, Kimberly Smith, whom he married July 1, 1977: daughters Casey Smith Hammond & John R.; Carey & Jamie McMullen: grandsons James J. McMullen, V.; Elliot John McMullen: sister Linda & Eldon Barnhart: brother Lloyd "Pete" & Karen Smith: 9 nieces and nephews: as well as many cherished great-nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of John's Life at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 40 Main St, Springboro, Ohio 45066.
