

Josephine Wolfe "Jo" Oliver, age 89, died peacefully, July 9, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil, in 2008, with whom she had shared 67 years of marriage; and by her siblings, Dennis Wolfe and Roberta Wolfe Alexander. Born March 23, 1922, in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, to James and Ida Robinson Wolfe, the family moved to Middletown where Jo graduated from Middletown High School, Class of 1940. For 25 years she was an executive secretary at AK Steel, retiring in 1980 and relocating to Dunedin, FL. They returned to Mt. Pleasant Retirement Community in Monroe, OH 2005 and then she moved to McMinnville, OR 2008 to be near family. Jo was well-known among family and friends for her great sense of humor and giving nature. She is survived by two sons, Don Jean of McMinnville, OR; Dale Carol of Lancaster, PA; four grandsons, Jason Hilarie, St. Johns, VI; Wes Rian Spokane, WA; Reid Suzanne, McMinnville, OR; Bryan, Portland, OR; and great-grandson, Griffin, Spokane, WA. Her memorial service will be held in Middletown on Thursday, August 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Breitenbach McCoy Leffler Funeral Home. Her final resting place will be at Woodside Cemetery in Middletown.
