

Karen Lynn Bussell Amis, 56, of Monroe, Ohio died at her home on August 6, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on Dec 25, 1955, the daughter of James Jim and Mary Jo Bussell. Mrs. Amis was employed by Advance Auto Parts for more than 20 years retiring in 2011. She is preceded in death by her father James Jim Bussell. She is survived by her mother, Mary Jo Bussell, husband of 30 years, Damon Amis, son Brian Amis, daughter in law Rachael Amis and granddaughter Kaleigh Amis. Brothers: Dave Nora of Centerville, Dan Val of Trenton, and twin brother Ken Ruth of Columbus. Mother in Law Charlene Amis of Franklin, Sisters in Law: Sharon William of Monroe, Sheri Mark of Columbus. Brothers in Law: David Terrie of Hunter, Jerry of Monroe, Roger Lisa of Middletown and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Southwestern Ohio College with a degree in business and accounting. She was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and daughter. Karen's true passion was bowling. This was evident in her many bowling accomplishments. She was inducted into the Middletown Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1996. She has thrown two 300 games in her forty plus years of bowling. She also has a 299 game to her credit with city tournament titles in team and all events. She is also a 13 time Middletown/Miami Valley All Star Team Member. She has also been league president of the Liberty Belles of 76. She is a former Buckeye Belle Tournament and District 5 600 Club Tournament Champion. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Waugh and Reverend Patrick Bussell officiating.
