

Karen Sue Winkle, age 78, of Carlisle, Ohio and formerly of Oregonia, OH passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at The Enclave of Springboro. Karen was born in Oregonia, OH on July 20, 1945 to the late Fritz and Helen (Hall) Powell.
Karen is best described as a quiet soul with a heart of gold. She loved attending church, singing hymns, and praising God. Karen was raised on a dairy farm in Oregonia. Years later, the Powell Farm became a host for the famous Oregonia Hill Climb. Karen was proud this event was held on her family’s farm. She enjoyed being a snow bird, splitting her time between Ohio and Florida. Her passion for antiques and crafts lead to her owning an antique store, The Mason Jar, in Blanchester.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Charles Stephens; her former spouse, Vern Winkle; her sisters, Wanda Isaacs, Sandy Dalrymple, Cheryl Powell and Pam Duncan. Karen is survived by her two children, Cheryl (Tim) Beatty, Brian (Jamie) Stephens; her five grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) McCurry, Payton Stephens, Timothy (Bridget) Beatty, Jerry (Amber) Beatty, Seth Beatty; her seven great grandchildren, Jaxson McCurry, Josie McCurry, Lilly Beatty, Topper Beatty, Brinnix Beatty, Natalie Beatty, Valerie Beatty; her brother-in-law, Stanley Duncan and her best friend, Judy Beatty.
A visitation for Karen will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, Ohio 45005, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM with Steve Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery in Corwin, OH.
