
Lowell B. Johnson, age 89, of Franklin, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Hospice of Butler Warren County. He was born in Chesapeake, Ohio, on July 6, 1936, to the late Burns Orville and Luella (Sumpter) Johnson.
Lowell was a proud graduate of Chesapeake High School and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean era from 1960 to 1962. He dedicated 26 years of service to Mound and retired in 1991. A faithful and Godly man, Lowell was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Franklin since 1965. He was a friend to everyone he ever met and someone who left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret (Blake) Johnson; his two daughters, Cynthia Young and Lola Kay Johnson; his grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Blevins and Weslee (Kyle) Creech; his great-grandchildren, Gunner, Blakeley, and Witten; and lifelong friend Ray Eller.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd Street, Franklin, Ohio, with Dr. Clyde McCammack officiating. Burial will follow at Woodhill Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
