Mable Leyes

Mable Leyes, age 80, of Centerville, OH passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Otterbein Senior Living in Lebanon. She was born in Speedwell, TN on June 14, 1943, the daughter of the Erastus and Ruthie (Carey) Fortner. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Francis "Frank" Leyes on 11/4/2021 and 7 siblings, Frank, Landon, Theodore, Clay Fortner, Lela Thompson, Lillie Lasley, Cleo Ellen Fortner, 2 sisters in law, Catherine and Carolyn Leyes.

Mable is survived by her two children, Penny (Doug) Colvin and Daniel (Amanda) Leyes; 2 siblings, Ray (Margaret) Fortner, Eula (Ray) Hildebrand; 3 brothers in law, Edward (Mary) Leyes, Paul (Anita) Leyes, Matthew (Joyce) Leyes. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kirsti (Orbie) Yancey, Chase (Anjelica) Mathews, Liam, Owen and Nora Leyes; great grandchildren, Stella, Memphis, Remington, Micah, Willow and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mable retired from the Inland Division of General Motors after 40 years of dedicated service and was a member of The Church of the Incarnation. She was a master gardener, and volunteered at United Way and the Election Polls. Mable also enjoyed being a Home Health Care provider.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at The Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Avenue, Centerville, OH. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the Anderson Funeral Home, Springboro Chapel, 40 North Main Street, Springboro, OH from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
