Marvin D. "Mark" Shaw, age 83, of Franklin, Ohio, died Sunday April 27, 2014. He was born in Granite City, Illinois on March 9, 1931 to Dayton and Ethel (Jackson) Shaw. Mark proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed with AK Steel for 31 years and retired from the Technical Repair Department in 1985. He was preceded in death by his Father, Dayton A. Shaw, Mother, Ethel P. Best, Sisters, Edith M. Jarrett and Helen V. Nickell. Mark is survived by his wife of 60 years Marlene Shaw Daughter, Sandy L. (Kenneth) Ball; Granddaughter, Katie L. Ball; Brother, Bill Shaw of FL; Sister, Wilma G. Childress of AZ; several nieces and nephews. Mark was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. Funeral services are 1:00 pm Friday May 2, 2014 at Anderson Funeral Homes 1357 E. 2nd St Franklin, Ohio with Pastor Cornelious Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
