One of Mary's greatest joys in life was singing for the Lord, starting when she was about twelve years old. She sang with her family for many years before moving to Alabama and singing gospel music there for over 30 years. T. L. and Mary. started a gospel group called Heaven's Connection that she was very proud of and they spent many years traveling and ministering to others through their music. Mary was very talented and wrote gospel music and plays for her church, winning several awards. During her early years in Alabama she enjoyed helping special needs children learn to play piano and had a great time working at a mission camp for kids during the summer. A few years later she opened a flower and ceramic shop while still traveling and singing.
Mary loved spending time with her family and always came home for holidays, especially family reunions and Christmas. She loved playing board games and card games together and she had a competitive side, always very determined to win, as anyone that ever played against her could tell you. She loved her Lord, she loved to sing, she loved to laugh and she loved her family.
