
Dr. Helfferich graduated from Xavier University and Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served as the Otolaryngology Residency Program Director at Grandview Medical Center for which he devoted his time and talent to training young ENT physicians. He practiced medicine in the Dayton area for over 25 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying running, hiking, hunting, and riding dirt bikes. Most of all, he was a dedicated family man and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Debby Helfferich; parents, Alfred and Patricia Helfferich; three sons, Aaron (Brooke) Helfferich, Nicholas Helfferich, Nathan Helfferich; daughter, Rachel Helfferich; grandson, Nolan Helfferich; granddaughter, Heidi Helfferich; sister, Karen (Dale) Menkhaus; brother, Mark (Karen) Helfferich; four sisters in law, Lynda (George) Noel, Karen (Dave) Harrison, Janet (Keith) Isaack, Sue Droege and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6696 Springboro Pike Dayton, OH with Celebrant Father Ron Combs and concelebrant Tom Shearer officiating. Burial in David’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main Street, Springboro, Ohio.
