Mom would say: if you don’t have anything nice to say then say nothing at all. So sometimes we just remained silent. 

Mom wanted everyone to get along in a perfect world. She was a very giving person and didn’t put much value on the material things of this earth. 

Mom loved angels - she loved reading stories about angels helping ordinary people in their daily lives. She would cut out newspaper articles about heroes and rescue stories and share them.  She looked for miracles to happen in this world and she always saw the good in people. 

She was a member of the New Jersey Presbyterian Church.

She was a Nursery School teacher at the Chautauqua Community Center. 

She was childlike. She loved to play with her grandchildren and would get right down on the floor with them and play board games or color or whatever they wanted to do. 

She loved fairies. She liked the make believe stories about fairies and enchanted places. I guess you would say that she was a dreamer.
 
She collected Nancy Ann storybook dolls (which is where my name came from). 

She loved the color of green and would say that St. Patti’s Day was named after her. 

I am not a very good cook so mom would make homemade pizza for my family. We loved it.

She loved birds. She had a book about birds and would mark in it when she saw different types. She would even record it if it was sited dead. Humming birds were her favorite. 

She loved wildflowers and dad would take her different places to look at them. Dutchman’s britches were always a good find. They would go to Gatlinburg in the spring to see the wildflowers and in the fall to see the leaves change color. 

They loved to go to the Pennsylvania Dutch area. Dad would do his antiquing along the way. Grandma Weisner loved the quilts and Grandpa Weisner was always in charge of getting us ice cream. 

When we were young we could walk to the pool each day. On hot days mom would put our pillows in the refrigerator so that they would keep us cool as we slept.

I was not a very good eater so she was ok if I just ate 1/2 of a snack size baby Ruth bar.
 
We played outside a lot and she always made sure that we were safe and had everything that we needed. It was a very simple life with lots of fun and laughter. 

Mom loved to go to the Franklin pool with my kids. She would lay in her suntan bed because she liked to have a dark tan.

She would get them Happy meals so they could collect all of the toys. 

She loved the holidays. She decorated the house for every occasion. She wanted all of her family around her. She was a great cook. She nibbled on things as she was cooking so she never really sat down and ate the big meal with us. She made everyone buckeyes-they were various sizes and shapes but they were great. 
Her Bedtime was at 8 so visiting time was over then and she would let you know. 

If something got broken or something wasn’t working quite right she would Rig it. Rigging is when you fix something with not the best workmanship using old tools and something out of the junk drawer. 
On more than one occasion she cut part of her finger off with the hedge trimmers. 

She loved clothes. She had the tiniest feet and owned about 200 pairs of shoes. She matched things up perfectly and her walk in closet was full of her outfits. I guess I inherited this from her.

What I will probably remember most about mom was that she was a fighter. She fought through her illnesses and would come back strong to be able to return home. The last time that she went for rehab she just was not able to regain her strength and Carlisle Manor became her home.

Mom missed her family members and friends that were already in heaven. She lost her sister Jeannie not so long ago that she would act silly with and laugh and carry on with and this was a great loss to her. 

I bet that they all had a big celebration together when mom arrived in heaven walking towards them with her new perfect body.
