Pauline (Barker) Collins, loving mother of 4, grandmother of 7, great-grandmother of 4, and great-great-grandmother of 1, passed into Glory at her home, surrounded by family, on September 22, 2020, at 10:19 pm, at the age of 74.
Pauline was born, in Campton Kentucky, on November 12, 1945. She married her husband of 34 years, James Collins, on March 17, 1962. Pauline spent the first part of her married life as a stay at home mom, raising her four children. The second part of her life was spent as a local hospital administrator. Upon the death of her husband, Pauline, the Matriarch of her family, went on to achieve many of her goals, including starting her own nationwide hospital consulting firm and earning her Doctorate of Theology from Life Christian University. For the last 20 years of her life, Pauline fulfilled the call of God on her life, serving as the associate pastor of Covenant Christian Center in Franklin, Ohio.
Pauline had an insatiable desire for knowledge, an unshakable instinct and commitment to protect and cover those she loved. She possessed a willingness to sacrificially give of her time, resources and energy, and an ability to adapt and overcome any obstacle that set itself in her path. She enjoyed time with her family, cooking and baking, writing and teaching, trying new foods, a game of pictionary, and a good mystery.
She had tenacious faith, a tireless dedication to the Word, and an ear that was connected to the throne. She ran her race, and now she is reaping the reward of a life spent redeeming the time. Beyond all of her human accomplishments, Pauline’s most ardent desire was to stand before her Lord and Savior, with the words “well done thy good and faithful servant” echoing across the throne room of heaven. Her greatest desire has now been realized.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Collins, her mother and father Ina (Patrick) and Marion Barker, and siblings Margie, Harold (Will), and Merle (Jr.) Barker, and brother in law Elroy T. Warmoth. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Kay Collins, Cheri Anne (Tony) Young, Rev. James Christopher “Skip” (Cathy) Collins, and Shannon Raye (James) Alexander ; her grandchildren Jennifer Edwards, Rev. Ryan Young, Ashley King, Christian and Jonathan Alexander, and Conner and Noah Collins; her great grandchildren Mackenzie Millar, Carson Young, Ella King, Holden King, and her great great grandson Kaceton Lambert. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters, Shirley Warmoth, Janice (Tom) Hazlett, Kathy (David) McKinney, Peggy Thomason, and her best friend of 54 years, Peggy Richardson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to personally thank the staff of Hospice of Dayton for such kind and compassionate care.
The family is accepting friends for visitation, on Monday September 28th, at Anderson Funeral Home in Franklin Oh, beginning, at 11am with the funeral following at 2 pm. Services to be officiated by her son Rev. James C. Collins, and her grandson Rev. Ryan A. Young assisting. Graveside services will follow, at Woodside Cemetery.
