

Peter Gust Michael, 85 of Miami Township, passed away with his wife by his side on December 17, 2014. Born April 14, 1929 to Gust and Evdoxia Michael, immigrants from Greece, he was the youngest of 3 children. Peter graduated in in 1947 from Fairmont High School and later attended the University of Dayton. Following that, he graduated from Army General School in Fort Riley Kansas and served in Korea from 1953-1954 as an aerial photographer with the 45th division, G-2. He was president and founder of P.G. Michael Inc., the largest wholesale Coca-Cola distributor in the mid-west with operations in eight major cities. He was a 32 degree Mason and Antioch Shriner for 50 years and obtained the Scottish Rite of Valley in Tokyo, Japan. Pete was a charter member of Dayton Racquet Club, and Isla Del Sol Gulf Club in St. Petersburg Florida. He had a love for flying and was an active member of the Aircraft and Pilots Association for 45 years as well as a member of the Aviation Hall of Fame. During his retirement he worked on rebuilding the Wright B Flyer and enjoyed working as a long time employee of The Golf Club at Yankee Trace. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gust and Evdoxia Michael, brother Nicholas Michael, and sister Marie Unkle. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Ruth, daughter Jennifer (Louis) Lewow of Atlanta Georgia, sons Dennis of Tulsa Oklahoma, John (Lisha) of Centerville Ohio, Jim (Jackie) of Centerville Ohio, 8 grandchildren, Paul, Kerrighan Fanning (Colin), Carlye Rausch (Andrew), Drew, Alex, Nicholas, Sean, Katie, and two great-grandchildren Quinn and Hadley. Viewing will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main St. Springboro Oh, Monday December 22 from 5-8 p.m. Services Tuesday, December 23 at 10 am. Interment following at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
