

Phyllis Jean Watson, age 87, of Springboro, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. She passed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at Hospices of Butler and Warren Counties, surrounded by her family. Phyllis was born in Dayton on September 4, 1928.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Forrest (Rick) Watson; her parents, Fred and Maryette (Lindsey) Hilsheimer, (her adopted parents, Charles & Laura Etta Lindsey) and stepmother, Louise Hilsheimer; two sisters, Maurine Crawley and Annabelle Sanford.
Phyllis is survived by two children: daughter, Linda (Roger) Eckert of Springboro and son, Jerry (Nancy) Watson of Guntersville, AL; two sisters: Terry Anne Nicholson of Englewood, OH and Frances Newcomer of Xenia, OH; grandchildren: Sherry (Scott) Kane; Michael (Terri) Eckert and Daniel (Kate) Eckert; Mesilla Watson, Holly (Mark) Erickson, Jamie (Pam) Watson, Jason (Jenny) Watson, Josh (Jen) Watson, Danielle (Ryan) O’Neill; 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; a very special niece: Phyllis (Bill) Dempsey; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was employed at Rike’s and Meyers Pharmacy in Dayton. She was a member of Living Water Lutheran Church and previously Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She is remembered for her many great qualities, including her natural ability to make everyone she interacted with have a brighter day.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 26 at the Living Water Lutheran Church, 667 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Centerville, Ohio from 10:00 to 11:00. "A Celebration of Life Service" will be held at 11:00. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
