Rafael Aponte, age 63, of Middletown, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 31, 1951 in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, the son of Tomas Aponte and Elena Bobadilla Aponte. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Deborah Aponte; one daughter, Tiffany Aponte of Middletown; one son, Rafael "Tony" Jessie Aponte Jr. of Middletown; two granddaughters, Ellyana and Lanie; his mother-in-law, Norma Hobbs of Middletown; a special nephew, Eber Flores of West Chester; and many siblings and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ruben Aponte. A special thanks to Dr. Malcolm, Beth, and the staff at Signal Point.
