Eddie was one of the bravest and strongest people that one could ever know. His life was so full of love and laughter. He was known for loving to tell jokes, making people laugh, dancing in the kitchen, and loving more than a heart knew was possible. He helped people in every way that he could. He loved pop-up cards, Hawaiian shirts, watching Andy Griffith, and spending time with his family. He was a fearless supporter of the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and Ohio State. He loved to garden and sing while mowing the grass. One of his favorite things to do was eat dinner on the deck with his wife and daughter, Elizabeth and Nicole, whom he was so proud of.
Born on February 27, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio, Eddie was a graduate of Belmont High School in Dayton. Drafted into service on his graduation day, Eddie served as a Sargent in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the special forces and was awarded 3 purple hearts, 3 bronze stars, 1 silver star, and the medal of honor among many other prestigious military honors. He was a true American hero and bragged about getting kissed on the head by Ann-Margret while he was in the army hospital during the war. After he returned from war, Eddie worked at General Motors where he retired from in 1998.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Elizabeth, and daughter, Nicole. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Betty Masters, and sisters Juanita, Jerry, and Kathy and is survived by his brother Danny and sister Linda. Lizz and Nicole want to thank all of their family friends for their support and love as well Hospice of Warren County for their care of Eddie during his final days.
