Robert Ziegler

Robert William Ziegler, age 65, entered into his new life with God at Akron General Hospice, near his home in Canton OH, on May 10, 2011. He graduated from Middletown High School Class of 1964, received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 1968, and was an alumnus of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. Bob was an Eagle Scout, a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow, Fifth Year Pipestem, and enjoyed a 31-year career in Professional Scouting. He was a supporting member of the First Baptist Church of Middletown, OH, a Past President of Kiwanis Club in Toledo, OH, a past member of Rotary Club in Warren, OH and Kalamazoo, MI, and a past member of Sertoma Club of Middletown, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Marian Ziegler, and an uncle, Richard Keiser of Middletown. He is survived by an aunt, Barbara Negley Cribbs; an uncle, John Eileen Keiser; cousins Cyndi Stanton Miller, Donald Sharen Stamp, Kim Jeff Haber, Julie John Wilch, Dawn Stephen Rumpke, Lisa Keiser, and Sue Ann Lacky; and his godson, Jimmy Lacky. He also leaves behind life-long friends and their children, whom he also considers his family. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church from 9 AM to 11 AM Saturday, May 21. A celebration of his life for family and friends will follow at the church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Boy Scouts of America.
