This morning, Jessica told me of Nelson’s passing.  I am still in shock!  My heartfelt sympathies to all of his family. 

I met Nelson  about  50 years ago.  I remember a time when Cork told me to meet him at Sam and Barbs because he was to babysit the kids.  I showed up and Cork never did 😳. Watching the 4 Fish kids was a baptism by fire, but oh so much fun!!  Nelson helped me to keep them all corralled.

I will always have fond memories ❤️

How do you post "a favorite memory" when there are hundreds? Nelson was the cousin I most looked up to growing up, no one could eat more Cheerios! Winning that bicycle and having his picture and a story in the paper for his garden on Bunnell Hill Road, that purple Rupp and us building our jump ramp that Sam promptly destroyed. The look of astonishment on his face when he let me shoot his new .357 and after him missing the target several times, handed me the pistol and made a direct hit on my first shot...priceless! The basketball player I knew I'd never be and Grandpa Arnold's favorite grandson (he wasn't but it just seemed that way, lol!!!) Chasing turkeys at Pap Fishes farm, the list is endless. So sorry for your loss Dee, to his children and family. Looking forward to the fulfillment of Revelation 21:3,4

Barb & Sam, Linda & Dan  ! I recently told Dan that we were sorry to hear about Nelson’s passing. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.  Many memories flood back when I think of y’all and Nelson growing up! GOD Bless the entire family.

I've known Nelson for more than half my life.  I considered him a dear friend.  He was handsome, smart and a great friend to me  all these years.  Im so sorry for your loss. DEE WAS THE LOVE HIS LIFE and  was the happiness we all dreamed  of having.  He loved his wife so much.  
 You will be missed.  So many great memories I will forever cherish.  I love you both . Prayers for you Dee.

I had so many memories of Nelson while working at duffers aka orioles in franklin. But the funnest one was when they were playing cards and a cat fell  through the ceiling. I never seen Nelson move so fast in my life.  I still don't know how that cat got in the ceiling. But you got to love Nelson.

Nelson was my cousin. He was a gentle giant and he was always there looking out for us when we were kids visiting the farm, usually rolling his eyes at us and always with a smile and laughing is what I remember.  Taken too soon and will be greatly missed. I am saddened that we did not  have as many good times together as adults but I have so many wonderful memories with the fishes. I’m so happy my mom recently had that special breakfast with you and Sam, makes my heart smile.  Love you cuz and love to all the fishes. 

Nelson was not only my Brother but my best friend growing up and I'm still growing.  No matter how much we fought ( hey we were brothers) I always looked up to him. We shared many interests in cars and Harley's. I even got him out on a golf course a few times. I've always loved playing euchre with him as he was almost as good as I am.  He was always there for me as I was for him throughout our lives. He taught me many things growing up like our 4-H steers,  basketball ,farming and riding mini bikes, three wheelers and dirt bikes. He had to of known I took his beloved Sportster out a few times but never said anything. Once I shot a back window out of a Chevelle he bought.  I reluctantly showed him and he asked for my pellet gun. I was thinking he was either going to shoot me with it or crack it over my head.  He shot all the other windows out laughing and said he only bought the car for the engine. 
Too many great stories to share here. 
I will remember and cherish them always.  
I know I've told you that I loved you but not enough, but as brothers I know it was just known and never had to be said.
I miss you more than you'll ever know Brother. 
You were taken way too damn early and I just hate it.

My dad was a one of a kind. He was my biggest support, confidant and drinking buddy. He always knew what to say and gave the best advice when you needed it. I’ll miss our talks, his stories and just having him there when I need him. Life won’t be the same but I know he’ll always be with me. I’ll miss him greatly! 

Nelson was my heart. He was a big gruff man with a heart of gold. I am lost without him. I will forever cherish the time we had together and it was a good time! We were made for each other and I am so happy that we found each other. It was a heck of a ride! But it was over way too soon.
