

Silas Owsley Jr., age 91, of Springboro, OH, passed away Saturday September 1, 2018 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born in Wayland, Kentucky on March 17, 1927 to the late Silas and Josephine (Sizemore) Owsley. Silas was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army and was a past member of the Franklin VFW Post. He was employed with General Motors Delco Moraine as a Quality Control Inspector for 30 years and retired in 1982. Silas was a self taught "master handyman" who enjoyed home projects, yard work, and tinkering. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian (Stapleton) Owsley, sister, Alice Mae Martin, brother-in-law, James Martin and son-in-law, Bob Colburn. Silas is survived by his two daughters, Sondra (Owsley) Colburn, Lesia Owsley (Kenny Rogers) Coffey; grandson, Samuel Coffey; great grandson, Lionel Coffey; four step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren; and niece Teresa Martin Sturgis and nephew Gary Edward Martin. A private Graveside Service with full military honors will be at Springboro Cemetery with Reverend Danny Griffith officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Franklin VFW Post.
