Sylvester Fields

Steve was born August 31, 1939 in Livingston, Kentucky to his loving parents George Fields and Ella Mae Smith, both of which have preceded him in death. Steve is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Lillian Marie Cox Fields and his youngest grandchild, Madison Josephine Klups, as well as 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Steve is lovingly survived by his daughter Sherri Lynn Fields Klups, granddaughter Rachel Marie Klups, grandson Steven Chanze Klups, and his great granddaughter Rebecca Lynn Klups; his sisters Pauline Miller of Florence, Kentucky, Freda (Fred) Moachabee of Erlanger, Kentucky and Sandra Hadley of Waynesville, Ohio.

Steve spent his childhood summers on his uncle's farm in East Bernstadt, Kentucky where he had wonderful adventures and loved to regale with great joy all of his wonderful memories. Steve moved to Ohio in 1959 to be near family where he met the love of his life who he married in 1960. Throughout the years Steve truly showed his love for his family with vacations to Lake Cumberland, his and Honey's farm in Kentucky.

Steve was very active in his grandchildren's lives, attending sporting events, fishing, camping, and county fairs. Steve was a dedicated employee with General Motors for 36 years. He worked very hard and became an educator for GM. As an educator Steve traveled all across the U.S. While working for GM, Steve took his love for tennis to the next level and became an instructor for 10+ years for the General Motors tennis team. After retirement, Steve enjoyed life to the fullest. He joined and became a member of New Freedom Church.

Steve will be greatly missed by many. His absence will be felt until we all are reunited in Heaven.

A Celebration of LIfe for Steve will take place on Tuesday May 16, 2023 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the New Freedom Church, 840 Miller Road Lebanon, Ohio 45036.
