
Thomas Alan Kalt, age 82, of Springboro, Ohio passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 at The Carlysle House. He was born August 8, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Irvin and Lorene Kalt. Thomas attended the University of Dayton and the University of Cincinnati, and he also served as a pharmacist in the United States Army. He owned and operated Kalt Rexall Drugs for 45 years, which he took over from his father, Irvin. He was also a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Dayton and most recently St. Mary Catholic Church in Franklin. During retirement, Thomas continued his ministry as a pharmacist with St. Vincent de Paul's Society through St. Mary Catholic Church. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Joanne Mullins and Mary C. Desch. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jayne Kalt; his devoted son, Michael (Melissa) Kalt; and beautiful grandchildren, Michaella, Matthew and Micah Kalt; as well as nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Franklin. Visitation will be at the church from 12:00 pm until the start of mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the St. Vincent de Paul Society for St. Mary Catholic Church, Franklin, OH.
