

Thomas Odell Pence, age 71, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 while enjoying one of his favorite pastimes, fishing. He was born February 22, 1942 in Middletown, the son of George Elzie Pence and Eleanor Mae Dearth Pence. Thomas was a crane operator for Armco Steel, retiring in 2003 after working 40 years. He was an active member of the Breiel Boulevard First Church of God serving as an usher and attending the Saturday morning men's breakfast. He took pride in his yard and garden. Thomas loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed classic cars, especially his 1965 Pontiac. His survivors include his wife of 16 years: Diana Kay Northcutt Pence; three daughters, Denise Robert Shinn of West Elkton, Kerry John Lewis of Avondale, Arizona, Angel Jason Bailey of Cincinnati; two sons, Jody Shannon Pence of Franklin, Matthew Lori Pence of Trenton; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one stepson, Darrin Pitts of Middletown; one stepdaughter, Deborah Andy Greicius of Columbus; two brothers, Francis Pence of Carlisle, Phillip JoAnn Pence of Carlisle; and one sister-in-law, Joyce Pence of Springboro. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Elzie Pence; one sister, Lorine Mattingly; and his stepmother, Lucille Pence. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday at the Breiel Boulevard First Church of God with Pastor Wes Duff officiating. Visitation will be 5-8:00 PM, Monday at the church.
