Tom Wurzelbacher was a terrific principal - one of the best I ever worked with.  He was also a genuine caring person.  When I read the obituary I thought back to those years beginning in 1980 when I worked with him at Franklin Junior High School.  He touched countless lives and really made a difference.

Alan, I am sure your Dad was very proud on you and all your accomplishments.  I hope all your fond memories help you as you grieve your loss. I was a good friend of Tom for 58 years and I included him in my wedding party. I'm in total shock and sadness at his leaving us so suddenly.

I will miss him terribly.

Our deepest sympathy to the Wurzelbacher Family on the passing of Tom. We will miss our cheerful and helpful neighbor. He was always such a conscientious worker whether it was with his students, teachers or just helping where needed. When serving as a principal, his teachers respected him so much and cared about him. As neighbors, we enjoyed the chats we shared about our families and life experiences.

Larry and I send our deepest sympathy; Tom was such a great guy.  He was such a good friend to everyone; when we played euchre at the Y, he always asked about Larry as they were friends and he was interested in Larry's officiating.  He also added so much good humor during the euchre games.  I was his partner for a game Monday morning.  Tom was so friendly.  I bet he never met a person he didn't like.  I'll surely miss him.  He used to ride his bike by our house.  He just got the most out of life.  RIP, Tom.

He was an excellent counselor when I was in junior high school. He always had an ear to listen, And a lot of us, spent much time in his office.   He touched many lives of a lot of young people

Lynn, Michael, Alan and family our sincerest sympathy in your loss and our community's loss. He was a great friend and neighbor. He was a great principal and friend/cheerleader to all who cared to listen. I know for a fact!! 
He kept me from loosing control in HS. Yes, I made the visit to his office! Without his kind and gentle redirection, I probably wouldn't have had a change of heart. I'm forever grateful to him.
You must have have great childhood and adult memories of him.

Tom was an excellent principal and cared about his students. He was like a grandfather to them. He would teach them manners, etc, and other things that their parents failed to
teach them at home. He was the best principal for whom I had worked as a teacher. He  was a good family man and husband. He will be greatly missed by all. His Catholic education and upbringing made him the man whom he was.

I had him as my principal in junior high. He and his wife were both dedicated to education and community. Sad to hear of his passing. May his family know that he touched many lives in positive ways over the years.
