

Wayne S. Ledford, age 91, of Middletown, died Tuesday afternoon at the Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Mariba, Kentucky, May 19, 1919, son of Edward and Pearl Ledford. Mr. Ledford was a proud Army veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific from 1942-1945. He was a 60-year member and Past Master of Lincoln Masonic Lodge; the Middletown Chapter, Royal Arch Masons; the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; American Legion Post 218; and was a Kentucky Colonel. He and his wife, Mildred Midge Ledford, would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in November. He is also survived by 4 daughters, Judie Duff, Susan Jerry Hatton, Marilyn Lewis McCown, and Carolyn Dick Gray; 10 grandchildren, 19 greatgrandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a favorite nephew, Dale Ledford. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Friday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 4, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Eric Newell and Pastor James Anderson. Burial and military honors will follow in Middletown Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
