

William F. Edwards 95 of Franklin passed away Monday evening March 28, 2011 at the Walnut Creek Nursing Center. Bill has been a lifelong resident of Franklin and the son of Dr. Lewis and Frederica Edwards. He began his business career as a funeral director and later founded Edwards Furniture, Inc. in Franklin with his wife, Mildred Edwards, in 1945. He was a veteran serving in the Army Air Corp during WW II in Germany. Bill is a 71-year member of the Eastern Star Lodge #55 F & AM and Past Master in 1945. He was the first Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star Chapter in Franklin with Mildred and was a member of Scottish Rite of Dayton. The family members were active in the congregation of the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin, and Bill had been a current member of the New Jersey Presbyterian Church of Carlisle. Bill was an avid rock and gem collector and an accomplished photographer. Both of these interests were enjoyed during his many years of traveling abroad and in his Airstream trailer.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred Patrick Edwards, Mae P. Edwards and daughter in law, Marsha Powers Edwards.
He is survived by his sons, W .Patrick ( Suzanne) Edwards of Franklin, Richard L. Edwards of Carlisle and Daniel (Cynthia) Edwards of Duluth, GA. Bill also leaves his grandchildren, Dr. Mark (Michelle) Edwards, David (Melissa) Edwards, Mollie (Darin) McIntosh, Dale (Thomas Meacham)Edwards,Alissa Edwards and Bradley Edwards., great grandchildren, Melanie and Madeline Edwards and Jackson McIntosh. Bill also leaves his sisters, Ann B. Bettison of Middletown and Mary Sue Edwards of Franklin.
Funeral services will be Saturday 11:00 am at the Anderson Funeral Home 40 N. Main St. Springboro. Visitation will be Friday 5 - 8 pm at the funeral home, with Masonic Services.
