

William Edgar Melton, age 77, of Middletown, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. He was born January 11, 1934 in Middletown, the son of Grady Melton and Flora Harrison Melton. William served in the U.S. Army 3rd Armored Division in Germany from 1956-1960. He worked as a crane operator at AK Steel. His survivors include his wife, Mildred Pauline Spicer Melton; three daughters, Kim Melton of Middletown, Ouida Richard Howard of Franklin, Karla David Olivet of Middletown; four grandchildren, Brandi Shawn Martin, Crystal Mike Gifford, Joseph Neal, Mason Olivet; three great grandchildren, Madison Howard, Bailee Gifford and Julia Gifford; one sister, Sadie Snowden of Middletown; five brothers, Bob Brenda Melton of Rogersville, Tennessee, Jack Carol Melton of Zolfo Springs, Florida, Ed Melton of Middletown, Fred Bonita Melton of Middletown, Gene Melton of Hamilton; and one step daughter, Margo Peddicord. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marla Collier Melton; his parents; and one sister, Donna "Dimple" Wallace. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday at the Woodside Cemetery Chapel.
