Alexander Sonny "Sonny" Q. Tabilangan

Alexander Q. Tabilangan, “Sunny” as he was fondly called, was born on February 26, 1930 in Paia, Maui, Hawaii to Porfirio Tabilangan, a Filipino mestizo and Rosa Quirido, who was Portuguese. At age 3 his parents brought him to the Philippines, together with his younger sister, Rita. He grew up in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya and had more siblings: George, Flora, Norma, Robert, Diana and Donald. His half brothers and sister were Pitong, Larry, Rosie and Alven.

In 1950, he met and courted Remy de Guzman, of Guimba, Nueva Ecija and married her the same year. They lived in Guimba since then until the family migrated to the U.S. in 1979-1980.

In the Philippines, he worked as Chief Security Officer of Leonardo Perez, who used to be a former multi-term Congressman of the lone district of Nueva Vizcaya, Senator, COMELEC Chairman and close confidante and Political Affairs Minister of then President Ferdinand Marcos. Sunny was a devout Catholic and a Freemason, a fraternity which is a Brotherhood of Men under the Fatherhood of God, and was a Master Mason member of the Nueva Vizcaya Lodge #144 and Gen. Manuel Tinio Lodge # 167. He was also a Scottish Rites member (32nd Degree) of Tarlac Bodies in the Valley of Manila. Sunny and Remy have 6 children: Jesie (Linda), the late Rose/Ching Baldoria (Bernard), Vicky del Rosario (Tony), Beth Lee (James), Charlie (the late Melba, Rose) and Cesar (Abbey).

In the U.S., Sunny worked for a security firm and was assigned to Fleming Foods and Alpha Beta stores in Milpitas, where he resided with his family and other electronic companies in Silicon Valley until he retired. In the mid-2000s, he and Remy sold their property in Milpitas and bought a house in Las Vegas, Nevada and moved there.

On June 12, 2013, before High Noon, he peacefully breathed his last breath just moments after he received the Last Sacrament at Valley Hospital Medical center in Las Vegas.
