

Aniceta Novelero Nicanor was born on September 18, 1926 in Agno Pangasinan, Philippines. She was the daughter of Francisco Novelero and Rufina Natino Novelero. She is the only girl among 3 siblings. Her brothers were Winceslao Novelero and Eleoterio Novelero.
She was married to Ramon Narvaez Nicanor Sr (deceased) and together had 9 children: Adelita Nicanor Noguera, Belma Nicanor Cudal, Cleto Novelero Nicanor, Digna Nicanor Nilo, Edita Nicanor Tabud, Fersie Nicanor Maglilong, Sonia Nicanor Notario, Janiel Novelero Nicanor and Ramon Novelero Nicanor Jr. They started to name their children following the alphabet starting from A - Adelita. According to Ramon's story, they stopped at F (Fersie) because he was scared they would complete all 26 letters of the alphabet.
Aniceta was a popular dressmaker to most of the teachers in the town of Agno. She believed in the importance of education and encouraged her children to earn a college degree. With the money she earned from dressmaking, she was able to witness her children complete their college education.
On November 10, 1987, she migrated to the United States to start a new journey in her life. She started to work in the electronics industry for a few years until she decided to work in Convalescent as a Dietary Assistant. She retired at the age of 72 to enjoy her all-time-favorite game, mahjong with her retired friends.
In 2009, she had a mild stroke and underwent physical therapy. Six months later, she returned to the Philippines to gain full recovery and to spend time with the rest of her daughters and grandchildren. She returned to the United States in 2012 when her daughters Digna and Fersie migrated to the United States.
Aniceta passed away on March 3, 2016 at her daughter's home in San Jose, California due to a massive stroke. She is survived by all her 9 children, her 29 grandchildren, and her 20 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. John Vianney in San Jose, California. Aniceta will be laid to rest in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary in Fremont, California.
