

Bonnie Beatrice Gedling, 77, of Milpitas, California passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. She was born in Union County, Tennessee on October 10, 1937. Bonnie was adopted by the late John and Clevie Williams of Placerville, California. Bonnie lived her early childhood years in Dos Palace, California and teenage through young adult years in San Francisco, California. Bonnie graduated from Polytechnic High School, San Francisco, California in 1955. Beginning in high school, she worked total of 15 years as a Bank teller for Bank of America, Bank of Alaska, and Wells Fargo.
Bonnie married Paul Gedling of Jeffersonville, Indiana on December 21, 1957. John Charles was born October 27, 1958 (Deceased, age 54) and Cheryl Denise born February 27, 1964. A devoted military wife, Bonnie established homes in Tacoma, Washington, Anchorage, Alaska, Peru, Indiana, Shreveport, Louisiana, and San Mateo, California with final settlement in Milpitas, California in 1969.
Bonnie was a beloved member of the community beginning with Brownies and Girl Scouts of America and active team “Mom” and scorekeeper for Milpitas Bobby Sox Softball. Bonnie was an avid bowler for more than twenty years.
Bonnie was highly involved with several military service organizations: past President for the Air Force Sergeant’s Association (AFSA), Chapter 1379, Auxiliary, Former officer for Fleet Reserve Association, Unit 101, Auxiliary, and member of American Legion Post 564, Auxiliary.
Bonnie is survived by husband Paul Francis Gedling, married 57 years; Daughter Cheryl Denise Smith, Son-in-law Robert Smith III, and Grandson Shane Christopher Robinson of Carmel, Indiana.
Bonnie and Paul are members of Park Victoria Baptist Church, Milpitas, California.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 230pm at Park Victoria Baptist Church, Milpitas, California. Pastor Steve Zahare, presiding.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Institute of Cancer research.
