Carmela Melin cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and beloved friend to many passed away peacefully April 30, 2013 surrounded by loved ones. She was 91. Carmela’s passions were her family, playing piano, cooking, gardening and the A’s and the Raiders. A devout Catholic, Carmela was always generous to everyone she met and went to great lengths to make sure everyone she knew felt happiness and comfort when they were in her presence. Carmela was a telephone operator when the operator’s actually answered and connected every call. Carmela was preceded in death by parents Elena and Domenico Giusta, her siblings Roseann and Paul, and her beloved husband John Melin. She leaves to cherish her memory, Carla, (Andrew – loving son in law), Sharon, Gloria, and Yvonne, grandchildren Christina, Gina, Johnny, Vera and John, one great grandchild Jaylah. She lived with much spirit, youth, and life. Although Carmela is no longer with us physically, her heart and her love for life, and her care for those that she encountered daily will live on forever.
